Child protection
Schambereich is not intended for minors. Access is reserved for adults aged 18 and over. Parents and guardians are encouraged to protect their children; established technical means exist for this, and we support them actively.
What we do
- Every page on Schambereich is labelled according to RTA (Restricted To Adults) . Every common child-protection filter recognises this label.
- The content is additionally classified according to age-de.xml classified (age rating 18).
- Registration requires a self-declaration of age; users under 18 are expressly excluded.
- Suspected cases, whether accounts held by minors or minors in uploaded material, are blocked immediately; confirmed cases are reported to the competent authorities or to NCMEC.
What parents and guardians can do
The most effective protection is child-protection software installed on the child’s own device that reads the RTA label and the age-de.xml classification. Recommended in Germany:
- JusProg e. V. — a free child-protection programme recognised by the German Commission for the Protection of Minors in the Media (KJM). Direct download: jugendschutzprogramm.de/download.
- Turn on parental controls in the operating system itself (iOS "Screen Time", Android "Family Link", Windows "Family Safety", macOS "Screen Time").
- Talk to your child. Technical filters are only one part of it.

- German Federal Agency for Child and Youth Protection in the Media (BzKJ).
- Nummer gegen Kummer — helpline for children, young people and parents.
- International: ASACP (Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection) — Schambereich supports their work and follows their best-practice code.
