Similar content, series and @names

• Similar pictures and stories: every picture and every story carries suggestions that match its subject. They come from the tags, not from your behaviour.
• Subscribe to a series: a multi-part story can tell you when it continues. The author cannot see who subscribed.
• Address someone: type @ and a name in a comment and you get suggestions. The name becomes a link and the person is notified.
• Both notifications can be switched off separately under Privacy.

Keep reading, favourites and lists

• Keep reading: if you leave a story unfinished, Schambereich remembers where you were. Find it again with one click on the story and in the story list, no account needed.
• Tidy your favourites: every card in your favourites now has a remove button.
• Stories, surveys and tag pages load more as you scroll, just like pictures.
• The sign-in page now tells you what you need an account for when you click favourites, timeline or contribute as a guest.
• Pictures of undressed men without an undressed woman do not fit the theme of the site and are held back on upload. The uploader is told.

Since 2000: a tour through the history

The link at the bottom left leads to a museum tour through 26 years of Schambereich, with exhibits from the real old versions of the site, from 2000 to today.

Improvements in August

We kept working after the relaunch. The essentials:

• Your stories are yours: edit them at any time and withdraw them again, not just shortly after posting.
• New and edited stories get a short check and are usually online within minutes. The bell tells you.
• You can withdraw your own pictures at any time as well.
• Under your pictures and stories you can hide individual comments.
• The start page shows you a mix of new posts, what is popular right now and finds from over twenty years of archive.
• The picture list loads faster, and when you come back from a picture you land in the same spot.
• Uploaded pictures keep their full quality, we no longer downscale them.
• To protect your privacy we automatically strip all metadata from pictures on upload, such as camera details and location.
• Schambereich is now available in English. Switch at the bottom left.

A new look for Schambereich

After months of work it is done: Schambereich has a new face. A calmer design with light and dark mode, finally really good on the phone, a new Discover page for browsing and dedicated pages for multi-part stories. Along the way we carefully tidied thousands of stories and strengthened security and moderation behind the scenes.
